SHARING SPACES OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUSINESS GROWTH: VCS JOINS CIPE’S MSME DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION PILOT PROGRAM
The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) and Layertech Software Labs Inc. developed the Harnessing the Power of the Digital Economy course, an online training course to help MSMEs build their digital literacy skills and grow their businesses online.
The rapid changes in technology challenge businesses to constantly adapt in order to survive in today’s market and evolving consumer expectations. This makes sharing knowledge and expertise in digitalization essential to empower entrepreneurs and help businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises, thrive.
CIPE also launched a pilot digital literacy initiative in June 2022, the MSME Digital Transformation Pilot Program, in partnership with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Human Resource Development Foundation Inc. (PCCI-HRDF), the Women’s Business Council Philippines (WomenBizPH), and the Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce (PLCC).
Businesses that participated in the pilot program include Chong's Chicken Inasal, 94 Ukay Street, Frisky Ultd, Milkwear, Studio Hibang, MB Digital & Creatives, Hndkrfts by Shaynie, Matt Lee Shoots, Sine de Oro Productions, Longganisa Locale, and Clouds Above.
As a member of PLCC, VCS Chief Creative Officer, Amrei Dizon, participated as one of the three mentors for the digital transformation of small LGBT+ businesses. With CIPE and PLCC’s trust in VCS’ expertise and the proven effectiveness of digitalization in VCS’s business operations, Amrei shared the best practices in managing VCS, as well as the digital tools and platforms that the agency uses, to aid other MSMEs in building business’ resiliency and engagement in e-commerce.
Following our advocacy to give back, VCS has been actively collaborating with organizations and brands to support MSMEs across industries. In the previous year, Amrei participated as a resource speaker in a number of webinars in support of SMEs including the Digitalization and E-Commerce Workshop by Digital Pilipinas during the Inaugural Philippine Fintech Festival and the World Fintech Festival Philippines, Business Survival Guide for ADHD Entrepreneurs launched by ADHD Society of the Philippines, and The ABC’s of SMEs: A Webinar Series on how to Jumpstart and Grow your Business held by The College of the Holy Spirit of Tarlac (CHST) Batch ‘99.
TeamVCS also partnered with Sun Life Philippinescom.ph/en/ to write articles and produce collaterals for their SMEs Rising Series, as well as the digital event management for their two webinars in 2022 entitled Bright Business Blueprint: Take your Business to the Next Level and Business in the New Normal: Designing and Pivoting your Business for Success.
