FORMER GRAPHIC DESIGNER ISHEL MEDINA REFLECTS ON THE LASTING IMPACT OF VCS

Ishel Medina, a former Graphic Designer at VCS, shares how the company has had a lasting impact on her life. She remembers how she was welcomed into the company right out of college and how her coworkers and management provided her with a positive and supportive environment. Ishel even had her mentors and VCS founders, Ms. Amrei and Ms. TJ, serve as ninangs for her wedding.

As VCS celebrates its anniversary, Ishel hopes for its continued success and for the company to continue to have a positive impact on the lives of others by advocating for causes such as saving the environment, demanding good governance, and equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community.

Transcription: “VCS was my first ever real job right out of college and I'm so grateful for that. It really gave me a benchmark of what to look for in a working environment for me. From how coworkers treated each other with respect and camaraderie, how management really cared about the welfare and the personal growth of each team member, and how they make sure that each of our concerns are heard. Ms. Amrei and Ms. TJ really became mentors for me. Showing me what it means to be a true professional, through their words but usually through example. Sobrang laki ng naging impact ng VCS sakin. I actually applied again even after I've left. I've stayed a member of the team as a freelancer. I've met lifelong friends in my team members and how I actually got Ms. Amrei and Ms. TJ as ninangs for my wedding last march. My wish for VCS is that they continue touching lives. I wish that they continue to thrive in their various causes and advocacies that they support like helping save the environment, demanding for good governance, and championing for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community. More power to VCS. I hope for continued success and for everyone's happiness and growth. Happy Anniversary VCS! [Flying kiss]”
